Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, paid a visit to key ADNOC facilities in Jebel Dhanna, including the site of the company’s pioneering underground salt dome storage project.

Focus on energy security and strategic development

During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on ADNOC’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the UAE’s energy security and storage capabilities. The salt dome project, the first of its kind in the region, is set to provide state-of-the-art hydrocarbon storage infrastructure, significantly boosting the flexibility and resilience of the national energy supply chain.

His Highness commended ADNOC’s commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, and national growth, particularly in the Al Dhafra Region. He also acknowledged the efforts of ADNOC’s workforce in maintaining the UAE’s reputation as a dependable global energy provider.

High-level reception and strategic acknowledgment

Sheikh Hamdan was welcomed by Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO. Dr Al Jaber highlighted the importance of the visit, stating, “His Highness’s presence reflects the strategic significance of this location and ADNOC’s role in building infrastructure that supports the UAE’s long-term energy and economic goals.”
