Warning against leaving valuables in vehicles
Colonel Hamad bin Qasmoul, Director of the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, warned that leaving valuable items in plain sight inside vehicles is a risky habit that increases the likelihood of theft or tampering. He noted that such negligence creates opportunities for criminals to exploit.
Foot patrol observations reveal risky behaviours
He reported that foot patrols frequently encounter situations where personal items—wallets, phones, and bags—are left inside unlocked vehicles, making them easy targets for theft.
Promoting a culture of security
Colonel bin Qasmoul stressed the importance of instilling a culture of security and encouraging the community to adopt safe practices. He advised vehicle owners to avoid leaving valuables in view, park in secure areas, ensure all doors and windows are locked, and install alarm systems.
