Sharjah24: Sharjah Club’s karate team triumphed at the Future Stars Championship (Kata – Kumite), claiming victory in all male categories. The team took home the available trophies: Youth Cup (Kata, Kumite), Juniors Cup (Kata, Kumite), and Youth Cup (Kata, Kumite).
The 14th title of the season
The club, dubbed (The King), added their 14th title of the season to their collection, following a stellar performance. They won every bout in a tournament featuring 160 male and female athletes from seven clubs across the country. The event was held at the Sharjah Club’s gym in Al Hazana.

Historic first for Future Stars Championship
The Future Stars Championship, held for the first time with its new team competition format, saw intense competition and enthusiasm. The King’s athletes stood out and dominated the championship across all categories, securing the top spots.

Focus on Emirati talent
Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Games, congratulated the team and players for their exceptional performance. He noted that the Future Stars Championship holds special importance for the club, as it is focused on Emirati athletes.

Al Hajri emphasised that the championship showcases the significant efforts made to support local players. He also highlighted the club’s extensive pool of talented Emirati athletes who have excelled in various international competitions and led national teams.

Future of Karate in Sharjah
The Head of Individual Games further stressed that the future of karate in Sharjah lies with these athletes, who have consistently proven their excellence and achieved podium finishes. He also mentioned that the UAE Karate Federation benefits from such competitions by selecting top athletes to represent the national team in global events.

Al Hajri concluded, stating that Sharjah Club’s primary goal is to contribute to the national teams, with the ultimate aim of representing the UAE with the best athletes. He added, "The Karate team has now secured 14 titles, and there are still several upcoming competitions the club is focused on, particularly the national league next month and the cup competition, where we aim to continue the 'King’s' legacy."
