SWSC wins five medals at Union Cup for Kumite

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Women's Sports Club (SWSC) won five medals (three silver and two bronze) at the Union Cup for Kumite (juniors and women), which took place on April 19, 2025, at Sharjah Club for Individual Games in Al Hazanah.

Competitive field

The competition saw fierce contention from various clubs across the UAE, including Dubai Police, Shabab Al Ahli, Mentor Sports Academy, Fujairah Martial Arts Club, the Egyptian Club in Al Ain, and Tarek Torossian Sports Centre.

Medal aAchievements

In the juniors' division:

Jud Mahmoud won silver in the 48kg (Division B) category.

Shatha Bilal secured silver in the 53–59kg category.

Lana Osama earned a bronze medal.

In the women's category:

Jumana Mohammed took silver in the 55–61kg (Category B) division.

Linda Samer won bronze.

Coach commends dedication

Captain Radwa Aref, the team’s coach, praised the athletes for their strong mental and technical preparation. She stated, “These categories are extremely competitive, but our players showed great commitment, which was evident in their performances.”

A team effort

Aref attributed the team’s success to the continuous efforts of both the technical and administrative staff, along with the strong support from the club’s management and the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation. She affirmed their commitment to building on this achievement in future competitions.
