Sharjah 24: To mark World Teachers' Day, Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has launched a special initiative to sponsor 100 teachers across 10 countries covered by its foreign aid and sponsorship programmes.

The Teacher Sponsorship aims to support educators working in remote schools and classrooms, helping them continue their educational mission while honouring their dedication to this noble calling.

Khaled Al-Zari, Head of the Sponsorship Department at Sharjah Charity International, stated that the initiative offers donors who wish to expand their charitable contributions the opportunity to sponsor 100 teachers. This financial support helps meet the teachers' livelihood needs, enabling them to remain focused on educating children within beneficiary communities.

He explained that, with the continued backing of sponsors, the SCI successfully achieved 86 percent of its annual sponsorship plan by the end of the third quarter of this year. This milestone encouraged the launch of the new initiative—timed to coincide with World Teachers' Day—to allow more benefactors to contribute toward securing teachers' financial stability.

Al-Zari emphasised that the SCI views teacher sponsorship as a unique form of charitable work that bridges livelihood support with human empowerment. Its positive impact extends far beyond the individual educator, directly benefiting the students they teach and creating a lasting, generational legacy in the educational sector.
