Sharjah 24: Round 22 of the ADNOC Professional League begins tomorrow, Tuesday, featuring four matches on the first day and continuing with three more on Wednesday. The league leaders, Shabab Al Ahli, will be in action against Khorfakkan, while second-placed Sharjah takes on Ajman.

Top teams aim to extend their leads

Shabab Al Ahli currently sit at the top of the table with 52 points and a game in hand. They are looking to maintain their winning momentum and extend their lead over Sharjah, who trail with 41 points and two matches in hand. Shabab Al Ahli will play Khorfakkan—seventh with 31 points—on Wednesday at Rashid Stadium. The home side also hopes to bounce back from their recent Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup final loss to Al Jazira.

Day one: Key matchups and relegation battles

The round opens at Dibba Stadium with Al Orouba, last in the standings with just 6 points, facing third-placed Al Wahda, who are pushing to stay among the top contenders with 36 points. Sharjah will host Ajman, currently ninth with 27 points, at Sharjah Stadium.

Meanwhile, Dibba Al Hisn (13th with 16 points) will take on eighth-placed Al Nasr (30 points) at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium. The day concludes with Bani Yas (10th with 22 points) hosting fifth-placed Al Ain (33 points) in what promises to be a closely contested matchup.

Sunday fixtures wrap up the round

On Sunday, Al Jazira, sixth in the standings with 31 points, will host Kalba, who sit in 11th with 22 points, at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium. In the final match of the round, Al Bataeh (12th with 21 points) will meet fourth-placed Al Wasl (34 points) at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Sharjah.
