Sharjah Police meets with SSCFZA for coordination

Sharjah24: In order to improve coordination between security and customs authorities, a joint meeting was held at the Sharjah Police headquarters, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Border Ports, in collaboration with the Sharjah Seaports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority (SSCFZA). The meeting's goal was to examine shared operational roles, promote collaboration in managing land, sea, and airports, and increase operational efficiency and flow.

The delegation was welcomed by Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Bu Al Zoud, Director of the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Border Ports. The delegation was led by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Border Points and Crossings Affairs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority, and included Khalid Salem Bu Samnoh, Director of the Container Customs Centre; Sultan Obaid Al Ketbi, Director of Sharjah International Airport Customs Centre; and Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Kindi, Director of Khor Fakkan Customs Centre.

Brigadier General Faisal Ibrahim bin Nassar, Director of the Ports and Airports Police Department, was also present, as were Colonel Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Colonel Dr Khalifa Yousef Belhai, Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Colonel Omar Bu Ghanem, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, as well as several officers and specialists from both sides.

Discuss mechanisms of integration and readiness

The discussion focused on methods for coordination and integration between police agencies and Sharjah Customs at joint ports, as well as initiatives to improve readiness and collaboration, secure ports, and streamline operations and inspections.

Enhancing institutional collaboration

Brigadier General Bu Al Zoud expressed delight in the positive institutional engagement, stating that the synergy between the two sides helps to improve the effectiveness of security and customs operations and achieve the emirate's strategic goals.

Sharjah police's facilitative role

Mohammed Al Raisi, for his part, lauded Sharjah Police's efforts and role in facilitating procedures and supporting the shared operational environment, emphasising the need to continue to coordinate to develop the emirate's port system.

At the end of the meeting, Brigadier General Bu Al Zoud presented the visiting delegation with a commemorative shield with the police emblem in recognition of the two sides' close cooperation and active engagement.
