Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Rabea Al-Ketbi, Director of the Police Facilities Security Branch at Sharjah Police, explained in a special statement to Sharjah 24 that the plan also involved volunteers from the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, who assisted police officers in managing the worshippers and guiding them inside and outside the mosque. Coordination with the Department of Awqaf was key to ensuring smooth cooperation among all the relevant parties.
The six external prayer areas were designated to ease congestion, with worshippers directed to these areas if the main courtyards were full. This arrangement ensured the safety of attendees, avoided overcrowding, and allowed for a more organised and spiritually fulfilling prayer experience. Lieutenant Colonel Al-Ketbi highlighted that Sharjah Police consistently aims to implement effective security and organisational strategies to ensure the safety and convenience of individuals in large gatherings. He further emphasised that such coordination reflects the police’s commitment to delivering a well-organised and secure experience that builds community trust and meets the needs of the public with high preparedness and discipline.
