The department confirmed that the "Sharjah Reciters" program will continue during the final ten days of Ramadan. This program features a select group of reciters known for their skillful performance and melodious voices. The program will be held across various cities and suburbs of the emirate, including events such as the Suburbs Reciters, Emirates Reciters, Ten Recitations, and Quran Khatma events.
The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department has deployed maintenance teams to assess and upgrade mosques, particularly those with high turnout during Tahajjud prayers. Major mosques like Sharjah Mosque, Sheikh Saud Mosque, Al Noor Mosque, and King Faisal Mosque are being prioritized. Special efforts include carpeting outdoor courtyards and expanding the capacity of women's prayer areas with adjacent tents.
The department has also allocated volunteers, in cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteer Center, to manage the entry and exit of worshippers and ensure the alignment of rows in the outdoor courtyards. This will help maintain order and comfort for the large crowds of worshippers attending the mosques.
Throughout Ramadan, the department continues to offer a range of advocacy and awareness activities aimed at enhancing religious awareness across society. These activities aim to provide a faith-based atmosphere and promote Islamic culture and values, aligning with the department's mission to foster religious awareness in the emirate.
Sharjah’s mosques are hosting over 1,487 Quran memorization sessions throughout Ramadan. Thousands of students from various age groups are participating in these programs, dedicated to memorizing and studying the Quran and learning Tajweed. The department, in collaboration with the Sharjah Holy Quran and Sunnah Foundation, also offers recitation correction sessions at 20 mosques across the suburbs, ensuring that students receive guidance on proper Quranic recitation and memorization.
These Quranic programs are designed to strengthen the connection to the Holy Quran during Ramadan, while also raising religious and cultural awareness. The department provides support to all students by ensuring that mosque imams are available for memorization sessions, which cater to all segments of society.
In addition to Quranic programs, the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department continues to offer lessons and lectures focused on the provisions of Ramadan, including the jurisprudence of fasting and addressing daily challenges faced by Muslims during the holy month. These lessons are designed to provide deeper understanding of the Quran’s meanings and offer guidance on its teachings.
