Al Hamriyah Municipality hosts Zayed’s Path workshop

Sharjah 24: In celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed annually on the 19th of Ramadan, Al Hamriyah Municipality organised a specialised workshop titled "Zayed’s Path", aimed at instilling humanitarian values and fostering a spirit of giving among children.
As part of the Year of Community initiative, the municipality took part in the Ramadan Village activities hosted by Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, dedicating this interactive session to young visitors. The workshop featured a creative booklet where children coloured illustrations of humanitarian acts and penned their own ideas on how they could contribute to their communities in the future. This initiative sought to spark creativity, cultivate social responsibility, and reinforce the importance of compassion and unity.

Embracing Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of giving

Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi from the municipality’s Corporate Communications Department emphasised that the workshop was designed to honour the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. She reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to launching initiatives that encourage generosity and tolerance, in line with the UAE leadership’s vision of embedding humanitarian values into the fabric of society.

Al Shamsi also highlighted the enthusiastic participation of children and families at the Ramadan Village, noting their creativity and deep understanding of the importance of humanitarian action.

Strengthening community engagement

His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, described the workshop as part of ongoing efforts to instil humanitarian and social values. He stressed that the municipality takes inspiration from Sheikh Zayed’s ethos of giving and is dedicated to empowering individuals to serve their communities. These efforts align with the goals of Year of Community 2025, which aims to foster social cohesion and a sense of shared responsibility.

He further reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to rolling out similar initiatives through its dedicated national teams, ensuring these noble values are deeply rooted in future generations. Al Hamriyah Municipality continues to champion projects that strengthen social bonds, believing that a united and compassionate society starts with nurturing these principles from an early age.
