Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality has announced that it will carry out 5,500 inspections of food places, starting before Ramadan and continuing through the month. The goal of these visits is to make sure that everyone is serving safe and healthy food according to established guidelines. The inspections also aim to educate workers about good health practices. This includes all types of food businesses, like restaurants, bakeries, and other shops that sell food.

Keeping consumers healthy and safe is a top priority for the municipality, and it is part of a broader plan to improve public health in the area. During Ramadan, a team of 103 inspectors has been assigned to step up their efforts in checking these establishments, especially kitchens and restaurants, which see more customers during this festive time. The inspections will focus on how food is prepared, processed, and stored, as well as ensuring that workers follow health guidelines and have necessary health certifications.

The municipality has also reported that two popular kitchens in the city were shut down for not following health standards. Many health violations were found that could harm consumers. These issues were spotted during surprise inspections set up by the municipality to ensure food businesses comply with health regulations and to remind employees of the importance of adhering to these rules.
