Event organised by Khorfakkan Municipal Council and partners
The Khorfakkan Municipal Council, in cooperation with the Khorfakkan Municipality and the Emirates Red Crescent, organised a Zayed Humanitarian Work Day event on Wednesday at the Old Souq. The event featured a large Iftar banquet that brought together directors and representatives of government departments, institutions, and a large number of workers. The event was attended by His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Murr Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, Director of Khorfakkan Municipality, and other officials.
Upholding Sheikh Zayed's values and promoting social cohesion
Dr Mohammed Al Murr Al Naqbi told “Sharjah 24” that the event reflects the values and principles of the late Sheikh Zayed, whose initiatives to support those in need have had a profound impact on humanity. He explained that this approach has become a guiding light for everyone in the UAE, a nation known for its coexistence and tolerance among various nationalities, ethnicities, and religions.
Strengthening heritage and social unity
His Excellency emphasised that gathering around a single Iftar table is a cherished Ramadan tradition that strengthens social cohesion among diverse groups and helps consolidate the popular heritage of the UAE.
