Sharjah 24: His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended the conclusion of the 32nd Ramadan Police Championship at the Sharjah Police Club.

The event, organised by the Sports Activities Department, featured 700 players from various police departments, including the General Command of the Emiri Guard, Sharjah Police Academy, Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, and Al Qassimi Hospital.

Attendance and key officials

The closing ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Brigadier General Ahmed Al Serkal, Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nassar, Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, and several other department directors. The event was witnessed by a remarkable 1,800 attendees, including representatives from the participating entities.

Major General Bin Amer's remarks

Major General Bin Amer praised the success of the championship, commending the high level of competition and sportsmanship displayed by the participants. He also acknowledged the efforts of the organising committee in making the event a success and emphasised the Sharjah Police's commitment to enhancing the skills and interests of its members through various sports activities.

Championship winners

The Commander-in-Chief crowned the winning teams in different competitions:

  • Football: The General Directorate of Criminal Security and Ports won first place, with the Sharjah Police Academy in second, and the General Command of the Emiri Guard in third.
  • Volleyball: The General Command of the Emiri Guard came in first, followed by the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support in second, and the General Directorate of Comprehensive Police Stations in third.
  • Tug-of-War: The General Command of the Emiri Guard won first place, with the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support in second, and the General Directorate of Comprehensive Police Stations in third.
  • 50-metre Swimming: Omar Mohammed Abdul Wahid from Al Qassimi Hospital took first, followed by Mohammed Yousef Al Ansari in second, and Mustafa Al Tamimi in third.
  • 100-metre Swimming: Mohammed Al Ansari from the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support secured first place, with Omar Mohammed Abdul Wahid in second, and Sulaiman Hilal Al Mazmi in third.
  • Padel Tennis: The Sharjah Police Academy took first place, the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Ports came second, and the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority came third.
