Held on Friday evening at the council’s headquarters, the lecture began with Sheikh Al Anzi explaining the significance of tranquility, describing it as a gift from Allah that bestows peace and comfort upon believers. He highlighted that those who suffer persistent fear and anxiety frequently deviate from the principles of the Quran and Sunnah, opting instead for fleeting solace through physical relaxation or meditation in nature. Although these practices are not prohibited he emphasized that genuine peace can only be achieved through a deep spiritual connection with Allah and the fulfillment of religious obligations.
Sheikh Al Anzi emphasised that tranquility in Islam goes beyond mere emotion, representing a significant divine blessing. He highlighted that one of the admirable qualities of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was his emphasis on the significance of inner peace in a variety of circumstances. He elaborated that tranquility ought to serve as a fundamental guiding principle in all facets of a Muslim’s life.
He highlighted the importance of tranquility in enhancing marital relationships, highlighting its role in promoting harmony and stability. He concluded by pointing out that tranquility acts as a protective barrier against challenges and emotional distress, helping individuals make wise decisions free from impulsive reactions.
