The ceremony was held at the club's outdoor playgrounds, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Muadhd bin Howaiden; Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Howaiden, Chairman of Al Dhaid Municipal Council; Rashid Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Parents' Council for Male and Female Students in the Central Region; Dr. Ali Salem Al Tunaiji, Chairman of Al Bustan Suburb Council; Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club; Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment; Dr. Salem Zayed Al Tunaiji; and Saeed Balilaith Al Tunaiji.
The ceremony was also attended by Humaid Abdullah Balsadriya Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, members of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director, Ahmed Al Salman from Sharjah Sports Council, a number of dignitaries from the Central Region, and a host of invitees.
Supporting the memorisation of the Holy Quran
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by one of the competition winners. His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden delivered a speech, in which he emphasised the importance of the ceremony, which celebrates the people of the Quran and supports the memorisation of the Holy Quran in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership, especially in the Emirate of Sharjah, which pays great attention to Sharia and Quranic sciences, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Increased interest
Bin Howaiden pointed out that Al Dhaid Ramadan Quran Competition has become a shining mark in the club's record, witnessing increasing interest year after year, reflecting the community's interest in memorising and teaching the Quran to future generations.
Bin Howaiden praised the outstanding level of participants in this edition, which saw 195 contestants from various cities in the Central Region compete. He expressed his pride in the Quranic talents who demonstrated excellence in memorisation and recitation, setting an exemplary model of commitment to the Book of God.
Bin Howaiden also thanked the parents who were the primary supporters of their children in their memorisation journey, the judging panel who made great efforts in evaluating the participants, and Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment for its continued support.
Honouring 21 winners
The winners in different categories were announced, with 21 winners honoured across seven categories of the Ramadan Quran Competition.
The ceremony concluded with honouring the winners and their parents, who were presented with certificates and appreciation awards amid an atmosphere of joy and pride in this great achievement.
Al Dhaid Club affirmed that this competition will remain a Quranic beacon that attracts more participants every year, stressing the continuation of efforts to support memorisers of the Book of God and encourage future generations to follow their example.
