SIH spreads culture in Khorfakkan’s historical areas

Sharjah24: Dr. Khalid Al Shehi, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) in Khorfakkan, confirmed that the Ramadan Heritage Nights programme, which launched on Tuesday, includes various cultural and entertainment activities in Khorfakkan's historical areas.
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage – Khorfakkan branch, initiated the Ramadan programme "Heritage Nights" on Tuesday in the old neighborhood of Al-Zubarah, with the attendance of Dr. Khalid Al Shehi and several officials and representatives from government departments and institutions.

"Ramadan Through the Eyes of Poets"
Al Shehi explained in an exclusive statement to Sharjah 24 that the programme began with a session titled "Ramadan Through the Eyes of Poets," featuring poet Maryam Al Naqbi ("Essence of the Soul") and several poetry enthusiasts from Khorfakkan and the Eastern Region.

Celebrating historical and heritage values
The Director stated that the programme, which will continue until the 17th of Ramadan, includes multiple activities held in the Al Sidra neighborhood and the old area of Al-Zubarah, celebrating the historical and heritage values of these ancient regions.

Evenings and discussion sessions
Al Shehi noted that the Heritage Nights are organised in collaboration with several departments and institutions, featuring shops and commercial outlets for productive families, as well as various evenings and discussion sessions about Ramadan between the past and present. The programme also includes cultural, artistic, and entertainment workshops for children.
