The launch of the diploma comes as a continuation of the fruitful cooperation between the university and the parliament, which began in 2021 and resulted in the training and qualification of more than 300 young leaders from 17 Arab countries in the field of parliamentary work.
The press conference held, on Wednesday, began with the national anthem, followed by an introduction by Malek Al Iskandarani, APC member from Lebanon, who welcomed the attendees and wished the diploma success.
Professor Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi delivered his opening speech for the press conference, expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University, for his continuous support to the university’s role in serving the community, and His Highness’s continuous emphasis on the importance of cooperation with all sectors of the local community to benefit from the scientific and academic capabilities that the university is distinguished by, from its academic cadres and specialised centres, which made this a source of inspiration in developing the university’s academic programmes, and in a way that benefits the community.
Al Nuaimi then confirmed that UoS is proud to continue its strategic partnership with APC, which embodies the university’s vision of the importance of enhancing the role of academic institutions in serving and developing the Arab community.
Al Nuaimi added that the programme is not just a training course, but rather an investment in hope and the future, believing that investment in future generations, and providing them with knowledge and leadership and parliamentary skills through these qualitative programmes, is a fundamental step in building an aware generation capable of making positive change and confronting future challenges, by contributing effectively to decision-making and developing Arab communities in the future.
Ayman Othman Al Barout said in his speech hat since this diploma was approved as an advanced programme to train APC members, it has proven to be a great success in refining their skills and providing them with a homogeneous mix of the necessary parliamentary culture, which had the most significant impact in enabling child parliamentarians to perform their duties with the highest standards. Therefore the impact did not stop at the members of the parliament, but rather extended to everyone who joined this programme, whether from the children of Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators and other members of national parliaments for children in Arab countries. He added that the all expressed their satisfaction and pride in obtaining a university diploma, which had a great impact in motivating other children who expressed their desire to engage in this unique experience. He continued that APC takes advantage of the launch of the new and updated version of the diploma aimed at forming parliamentary leaders, to announce the availability of more opportunities for Arab children to engage in this programme, as part of the Parliament’s message and goals in advancing Arab childhood.
