Sharjah 24: 300 scouts from 80 different countries recently gathered for the 22nd Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD), taking place in the Heritage Area in the Heart of Sharjah. This event was part of the 10th International Scout Gathering, set to happen in Sharjah in 2025.

The goal of this visit was to promote cultural exchange and help the scouts learn more about Emirati and Arab heritage. The scouts explored various aspects of this rich culture, including traditional customs, crafts, and folk arts. They also took part in events and enjoyed exhibitions that showcased local and Arab heritage.

This year’s Sharjah Heritage Days carried the theme “Roots,” focusing on celebrating inherited traditions and raising awareness of cultural heritage among younger people. The heritage pavilions during the event reflected the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, highlighting the importance of preserving heritage and cultural identity for future generations.

With a wide range of exhibits and engaging activities, Sharjah Heritage Days served as a global platform for celebrating human heritage. It was not just about showcasing Emirati culture but also about building connections with various cultures from around the world.

The scouts enjoyed a unique experience that went beyond typical celebrations, blending heritage, culture, and community engagement through diverse programs suitable for all ages. The theme “Roots” emphasized the significance of heritage as the foundation of Emirati identity, representing a sense of belonging and authenticity that enriches the present and inspires the future.

Participants praised the organization and the variety of activities, noting that this experience added a valuable cultural perspective to their trip and deepened their understanding of Emirati and Arab heritage.
