Rashid Muhair Al Ketbi, Head of the Sorting and Evaluation Committee at the Al Dhaid Date Festival, said the entries underwent assessment by the specialised committee according to approved criteria. He noted that the competition was highly competitive, reflecting farmers’ focus on date quality, cleanliness, and weight, with one entry reaching 28 grams.
He explained Sharjah 24 that submissions were received until 3:00 PM before the judging process began, adding that the fig competition was evaluated based on cleanliness, size, weight, and taste, while the upcoming competitions will include the “Shaishi” date category and the most beautiful “date basket” contest.
