Sharjah24: Jawaher Al Mazmi, a member of the Traditional Crafts Committee for Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD) , stated that the Emirati Crafts Center, affiliated with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, presents a diverse array of traditional crafts. Key crafts include Al Sadu (weaving), Al Safafah (traditional weaving), Al Talli (braiding), Al Dukhoon (incense making), Al Makahil (eye makeup), Al Farookah making , and Al Burqaa (traditional veils).
Al Mazmi announced that nine Arab countries will showcase their traditional crafts during the 22nd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days. This year features the newly established Souq Al Sur, which hosts these artisans. The participating countries include five Gulf nations: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, along with four other Arab countries: Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, and Jordan.
Invitation to the public
Al Mazmi emphasised that over 95 artisans from these countries are participating in the event. She encourages the public to visit Sharjah Heritage Days and enjoy the live demonstrations of these traditional crafts.
