Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) participates in Sharjah Heritage Days 2025 via the Sharjah Volunteer Work Centre. The event has been significantly supported by volunteers, who have been instrumental in organising and overseeing various workshops and activities at the Heritage Village in the heart of Sharjah.
Volunteer roles and responsibilities
Volunteers have played a vital role in overseeing event operations across various sections, including the four environments: the traditional games house, the Arab Heritage Centre, artistic heritage, the handicrafts centre, security and safety, maintenance, public relations and protocol, the International School of Tales, content management and publishing, and academic administration.
Improving visitor experience
Alongside event coordination, volunteers helped manage visitor entry and exit, giving priority to individuals with disabilities and the elderly for attending performances. Their roles in organisation and supervision have played a crucial part in supporting the event, which honours culture and heritage while drawing thousands of visitors from the UAE and beyond.
