Sharjah 24: Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Academy of Police Science (SAPS), has announced the initiation of a PhD programme that focuses on quality and excellence in security work.

Enhancing police sciences for community

Bin Amer emphasised that the programme reflects the academy’s dedication to enhancing police science, given the vital role this specialised field plays in addressing the community’s security requirements.  The academy carried out benchmarking studies alongside police and security institutions globally, ensuring the curriculum is in harmony with quality and improvement philosophies. This is the inaugural programme of its type among police and security colleges in the UAE and the surrounding region.

Endorsing countrywide initiatives

The initiative, according to the Chief of Sharjah Police, aims to develop exceptional national talent to support the Ministry of Interior's and Sharjah's strategies for preserving security and stability and improving the calibre of security operations.

Dedicated to achieving high standards

The introduction of the programme demonstrates the academy’s steadfast dedication to promoting institutional excellence, creativity, and innovation—preparing its students to effectively lead in the police and security sectors.
