The center was keen for the Rubu’ Qarn Theater and Performing Arts Season to be a platform to highlight youth creativity, with a focus on developing the skills of participants in the programs and workshops of the centre’s Century Theater and Performing Arts Center.
The participants were members of the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, from different age groups ranging from 6 to 31 years.
The season was inaugurated on December 15, 2024 in the heart of Sharjah, Al Dhaid Fort and Khorfakkan Beach, in the presence of Yi Yuping, President of the Scenography Institute in Yinchuan, China, and a group of experts, including Professor Abdul Salam Abdo.
Yuping praised the event, appreciating the high artistic level of the participants. He also stressed the importance of cultural exchange in promoting theatrical arts and enriching artistic experiences and building bridges of understanding between different cultures.
The season included about 39 theatrical performances, presented by more than 400 members from all the centers of the Rubu’ Qarn spread across the various cities and regions of Sharjah, numbering 23 centers, in addition to the specialized centers affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn for Theater and Performing Arts (the Puppet Arts Center and the Theater Arts Center).
The shows varied between silent plays, purposeful social plays, musical theatre, puppet theatre, shadow theatre, and heritage play that reflected the UAE's cultural authenticity and popular heritage, giving the season a unique character that blends modernity and tradition.
The parallel paragraphs to the main show's programme varied between interactive workshops, which reached more than 10 workshops, targeting a diverse audience, which received great interaction from the attendees and added a creative, practical dimension to the season.
The season provided for daily discussion sessions within the Rubu’ Qarn Council, which concluded with a session of the Al Thariyah Corridor, during which participants discussed the uniqueness of theatre compared to other creative and literary forms, which opened the way for exchanging ideas and deepening understanding of the uniqueness of theatrical art and its cultural role.
These shows targeted all segments of society, including children, youth, and families who came to follow the positive impact of theatre on their children who participated in presenting the shows and who demonstrated exceptional skills in theatrical creativity and teamwork.
The season witnessed the attendance of more than 3,000 visitors from various exhibition areas, in addition to visits by prominent figures in the artistic and cultural community, which enhanced the participants’ confidence and contributed to developing their artistic skills.
The season concluded with honoring experts, strategic partners, participating teams, and a group of trainers.
