Sharjah24: As part of Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) commitment to sustainability and efficient consumption, the traditional lighting system at Al Hamriyah Water Desalination Plant has been replaced with LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting. This change has resulted in a 70% reduction in energy consumption and a decrease in the operational costs of the plant.
Engineer Abdulrahman Boukhalf, Director of Water and Desalination Stations, confirmed that the authority is taking all necessary measures to ensure sustainability, promote efficient consumption, and reduce operational costs for various stations and projects. He noted that 300 lamps and fixtures have been replaced in the offices, internal station, and some poles at the Hamriyah Water Desalination Plant.

He added that the authority's plan includes working in the upcoming phase to change the lighting systems at the stations and several other projects and buildings according to the best energy-saving systems.
