Sharjah 24: As part of the efforts of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation to support orphans and provide them with comprehensive development opportunities, 38 young men and women were enrolled this year in the training and vocational development programme, which specialises in enhancing their professional skills and qualifying them to enter the labour market with high efficiency.
The programme extends over several months, during which it includes intensive practical training and supervision by experts specialised in various fields. Trainees will also be guided and their performance will be monitored to ensure that they benefit fully and achieve the highest levels of excellence in their job.

Nawal Al Hamdi, Director of the Social Welfare Department at the Foundation, said that through the training and development programme, the foundation seeks to support young orphans and provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become active members of society. The foundation believes that vocational training will give them confidence and the ability to be financially independent, and enhance their future job opportunities. The foundation appreciates the cooperating entities, which this year were represented by Sharjah Cooperative Society, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Mashreq Bank.

Nawal Al Hamdi continued that the programme aims to enable young orphans to acquire the necessary professional skills that are in line with the needs of the current labour market. The programme is implemented in partnership with a number of government institutions and private companies that provide practical training and the necessary support to provide them with various skills in computers, business management, customer service, and entrepreneurship, in addition to providing guidance to trainees, which contributes to preparing them effectively for practical life.

Mr. Hilal Al Muharram, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at Sharjah Cooperative Society, stated that the continuous cooperation with Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation over the years reflects Sharjah Cooperative Society keenness to encourage members of society in general and students of the Foundation in particular to integrate into society and help them develop their abilities and skills and enhance their self-confidence by providing them with training opportunities in various branches and offices, which contributes to building their personality and broadening their horizons. Sharjah Cooperative Society wishes them continued success.

Musa Abdul Rahman, member of the foundation stated that the vocational training programme is an important and fundamental step before getting a job, as it brings great benefit, develops practical skills, and provides needed skills to perform work tasks effectively, as practical application provides theoretical knowledge and improves technical skills. It also helps increase employment opportunities as it adds real practical experience and understanding of the nature of work, and helps to be disciplined in appointments, manage time, and work as a team.

Mustafa Ashraf, member of the foundation said that practical training has added a valuable opportunity to benefit from the programme in enhancing practical skills and acquiring specialised skills, as training is a means of development and enables to advance in the professional field, which provides distinguished performance, enhances efficiency in providing tasks better, and helps to deal with customers in a professional and fast manner. Therefore, vocational training is an essential step towards preparing young people for the labour market and ensuring their ability to adapt to the requirements of the required job.

The programme comes within the vision of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation to enhance learning and development opportunities for orphans, and support them to be able to build a sustainable and independent future.
