Sharjah 24: Sharjah Media City (Shams) has announced the Shams eSports Championship, set to take place at the Shams Business Centre from November 22-23, 2024. The two-day event aims to boost the eSports scene in Sharjah and the UAE.
The competition will feature FIFA 25 on Friday, Tekken 8 and Super Smash Bros. on Saturday, with a total prize pool of AED 100,000. Prizes will be distributed across the top 8 players in each game, with additional prizes available through a prize wheel worth AED 5,000. The event is expected to attract 300-400 participants.
Alia Ali Al Suwaidi, Director of Content and Innovation at Shams, highlighted the championship as part of the emirate’s broader effort to establish Sharjah as a key hub for the gaming and e-sports industry while supporting the development of new talent.
