Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) has implemented the 'Orphan Happiness' initiative to coincide with Eid Al Adha, in a move aimed at bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of children without parental care, enabling them to celebrate Eid in an atmosphere of joy through various programmes that embody the values of community solidarity.

"Orphan Happiness" initiative

The initiative included providing Eid sweets, toy vouchers, and free meals, in addition to shopping vouchers that benefited 100 families. It also included making 233 orphans happy by delivering Eid gifts to them, with the aim of enabling children to enjoy Eid and enhancing their sense of independence and distinction to make Eid a true occasion of joy and celebration.

Implements the initiative through broad community participation

The Foundation implements this initiative through broad community participation from individuals and institutions in society to contribute to the happiness of fatherless children, through a range of recreational events, community visits, and interactive activities, or by offering seasonal gifts and Eidiya to bring joy to their hearts during holidays and special occasions, or by offering personal surprises based on each child's interests within the "Sidrat Al-Amaniyat" project, with the aim of creating unforgettable moments for the children participating throughout the year.

In a press statement, Her Excellency Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Foundation, confirmed: The “Orphan Happiness” initiative was created to be a window of happiness and joy, through which we illuminate the paths of our children with care and joy. We believe that a single moment of sincere concern can change the psychology and lives of children for the better. Therefore, we are keen to ensure that this initiative is more than just happy moments. Rather, it is a profound human experience that makes them feel like they are part of a community that embraces them and believes in their abilities.

The 'Orphan Happiness' initiative comes as part of the Foundation's strategy to empower fatherless children

She continued: "The 'Orphan Happiness' initiative comes as part of the Foundation's strategy to empower fatherless children and provide them with psychological and social support. It represents an opportunity to build bridges of love and enhance psychological support for them." In addition to providing a supportive environment that makes them feel the community's concern for their future and happiness, by activating activities and programmes that contribute to their happiness.

She added: “We extend a generous invitation to all members of society to continue their support and active contribution, as success can only be achieved through concerted efforts.”

The scope of the initiative will expand throughout the year

She pointed out that the scope of the initiative will expand throughout the year, so that “Orphans’ Happiness” will remain a symbol of happiness and a platform for creating joy, and a renewed gateway of hope in the hearts of children who always deserve the best. Bringing happiness to orphans is a societal responsibility that reflects the values of giving and instills smiles and joy in the hearts of fatherless children. It gives them hope and confidence, enhances their sense of belonging, and makes them feel like a pivotal part of society, enabling them to grow up with confidence and pride for a bright and promising future.
