Sharjah24: The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club organized the Beach Rowing, Kayaking, and Swimming Championship as part of the Khorfakkan Beach Tournament in its fourth edition, sponsored by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The event witnessed broad participation from athletes and enthusiasts amidst a fantastic competitive atmosphere.
The number of participants in the kayaking challenge reached 100 participants across 3 categories: senior doubles 800 meters, senior singles 800 meters, and junior doubles 500 meters. Additionally, there were more than 50 participants in the beach rowing challenge and over 55 participants in the open water swimming championship. The site of the championships was equipped with all necessary equipment and provided security and safety for the participants, ensuring the safety of all involved.
In this regard, the Director-General of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, Ahmed Al-Hosani, stated that the club always strives to promote marine sports culture through participation in such important events that provide an ideal platform for athletes to showcase their skills. It also strengthens ties within the local community and encourages youth to engage in sports activities.
Al-Hosani emphasized that the club is keen on providing full support for participation in various championships that contribute to the development of marine sports and enhance Sharjah's status as a distinguished sports destination.
Al-Hosani extended his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Saeed bin Saqer bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of the Ruler of Khorfakkan, and Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in Kalba , for their support of the tournament, their honoring of the club, and their recognition of him as the head of the Marine Sports Committee in the tournament. He also thanked the Sharjah Sports Council and its Chairman, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, for their diligent efforts in organizing the event.
