Sharjah24: Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan, attended a ceremony organised by Kalba Sports and Cultural Club in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council to honour achievers in various team and individual sports. The event also saw the presence of Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.
Rashid Saeed Al-Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Kalba Sports and Cultural Club, stated to Sharjah 24 that the ceremony, held on Thursday at the indoor hall, was in line with the generous initiative of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to recognise outstanding performers and achievers for the 2023-2024 sports season.
He explained that around 750 players were honoured for their achievements, including winning championships and securing medals in various team and individual sports, with the latter seeing the highest number of honourees.
Al-Kindi added that His Highness’s gesture brought joy to the players and serves as a motivating force for them to continue their efforts in elevating the club’s standing and raising the UAE’s flag high in regional and international arenas.
