This initiative is part of the club’s ongoing community engagement and its dedication to enhancing both the health and educational well-being of students, particularly those with a high body mass index.
The programme aims to offer full support to students struggling with obesity or excess weight by providing tailored nutritional and fitness plans. It will assist them in achieving a healthy balance in their lives, while raising awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy weight, proper nutrition, and regular physical activity.
The programme also includes teaching students how to manage their lifestyle for better long-term health.
With this launch, Dibba Al-Hisn Club has taken another significant step in its community involvement, reflecting its strong commitment to achieving sports, health, and educational objectives that benefit the youth in its community.
The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished figures from the club, including Mohammed Ali Al-Thuhouri, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Committee, alongside Abdullah Saeed Al-Thuhouri, Chairman of the Individual Sports Committee, and Mohammed Rashid Al-Hamoudi, Member of the Cultural and Community Committee.
In his statement, Mohammed Ali Al-Thuhouri stressed that the programme represents a key step in supporting students’ health and fitness. He explained that the club is committed to offering programmes aimed at improving the health of the community, particularly young people, who are vital to the development of future societies.
He added: "This project aligns with our strategic goals, which focus on promoting public health, developing physical fitness, and offering sports education. It helps raise awareness about the importance of healthy nutrition and physical activity in preventing chronic illnesses such as obesity and hypertension."
Abdullah Saeed Al-Thuhouri highlighted the significance of the programme in encouraging students to adopt healthier lifestyles. He explained that the aim is to motivate young people to improve their health through engagement with the sports activities and nutritional programmes being offered.
He confirmed that the club will continue to integrate educational and sports elements in all its programmes, to meet the needs of young people at various stages of their education.
Mohammed Rashid Al-Hamoudi stated: "The 'Challenge Your Limits: Health First' programme is a fresh start for students facing weight-related issues. It offers them a unique opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of healthy eating and physical exercise, which can greatly enhance their health and quality of life. We are fully committed to providing all necessary support to ensure the programme’s success."
The programme will not only provide sports activities, but also include workshops and educational talks on the importance of healthy eating and its impact on the body.
