Al Midfa thanked Sharjah's Executive Council for its support of the Union Day celebrations.
Al Midfa thanked the committee members and Sharjah's relevant authorities, emphasising the need of promoting activities that strengthen national identity. He remarked, "We celebrate the memory of the Union, which affirms our country's Arab national identity and renews the UAE's position as a global nation with humanitarian values." We encourage everyone to attend the activities in Sharjah. He went on to say that the UAE's successes are a testament to its leaders' intelligent and ambitious vision, as well as the resolve and perseverance of its people and inhabitants.
He emphasised that the UAE's founding anniversary is a day to renew loyalty to the country and its leadership, as well as to reaffirm the UAE's commitment to continued achievement that elevates its standing as a premier destination for tourism, investment, and quality of life, as well as a pioneer in development and progress.
Between November 21 and December 2, there will be artistic and entertainment events, contests, and educational workshops around Sharjah, with participation from government ministries and municipal authorities.
The Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee has set a schedule of events and celebrations for the UAE's 53rd National Day.
The programme me will run from November 21 to December 2, and will include highlight events celebrating the UAE's achievements and legacy at the country's important cultural and tourism destinations.
Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee, stated: "Union Day (Eid Al Etihad) underlines our national character as a genuinely global country that values tolerance. The celebrations in Sharjah urge everyone to join in and celebrate the accomplishments of our leadership's vision and ambition, as well as our people's resolve and resilience.
He said, "The anniversary of the Emirates' unification (Eid Al Itihad) is a day to renew our promise of commitment to the nation and its leadership. It is also an occasion to underscore the UAE's continuous commitment to improving its position as a major worldwide destination for tourism, investment, and lifestyle, as well as a symbol of development and prosperity."
Sharjah National Park
From November 21 to December 2, there will be artistic and entertainment events, contests, and educational seminars including government ministries and municipal authorities.
Al Dhaid City
On November 27, a national march will begin at the Grand Mosque and culminate at Al Dhaid Fort, with participation from government officials and students. Folklore performances will take place during the events from November 28 to December 1.
Al Bataeh
The Al Bataeh celebrations will take place from November 28 to 30, focussing on tradition, national identity, and allegiance. A traditional folk procession will take place, including participation from government organisations, local citizens, schools, and artistic groups. There will also be horse parades, historic automobile shows, and folklore performances.
The "Union Bus" will tour residential neighbourhoods, distributing flags and National Day presents. Over the three days, local parks will also host traditional art shows and children's entertainment.
Mleiha
On November 21, the Heritage Village will host a variety of activities, including a national march, folklore performances, a drama, and contests, followed by a communal meal.
A specific historical area will include a Bedouin tent, a dedicated place for local families to sell their products for free, and an area for government institutions to offer their services to the public. A free playground for youngsters will also be available.
Kalba will hold celebrations from November 23-25, featuring a national march, Kalba Operetta, vintage vehicle procession, traditional games, and sports activities.
Wadi Al Helo
The Wadi Al Helo celebrations on November 24 will feature folk performances, poetry workshops, and prizes.
Khorfakkan
Khorfakkan 's festivities will take place from November 22 to 24 in the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre’s outdoor plaza. The programme will include art workshops, children's activities, and traditional performances, beginning with the national anthem and progressing through poetry recitals, school performances, and a performance by the Al Mazyood military band. The festivities will wrap off with a musical folk performance and a series of competitions.
The amphitheatre will also feature events for local family companies, a youth council debate, a part for the small company, a robotics segment, and a cultural platform for children, youth, and seniors.
On December 1, the Khor Fakkan Amphitheatre will hold a musical event with a well-known performer. The revenues from these musical events will benefit The Big Heart Foundation, which helps children, vulnerable people, and families in need across the world.
Dibba Al-Hisn
On November 23, the Sharjah Union Day Celebration Committee will organise events in Dibba Al-Hisn, including a public march at 4 p.m., folklore performances, a national operetta, and national anthem and poem recitals. After the Maghrib prayer, the national operetta will have poetry, folk, and military components.
Al Madam
Al Madam will feature events on November 22nd, including heritage performances, children's activities, poetry workshops, and nighttime entertainment with fireworks.
Al Hamriyah
Al Hamriyah Beach Park and Creek will have its celebrations on November 27 and 28. On November 27, events will begin with the national anthem in the park, followed by a march down the Al Hamriyah Beach boardwalk with the theme 'A Nation's Journey'. Traditional elements, creative exhibits, and a poetry performance will also be showcased.
The programme will include traditional music, interactive activities for youngsters coordinated by Al Hamriyah Municipality and government agencies, and an entertainment session for senior residents in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, followed by a communal meal.
The following day, events will begin with the national anthem, followed by poetry recitals, folk songs, a video commemorating the 53rd National Day, a competition, interactive workshops, a cultural segment by Al Hamriyah Municipality, a sports competition hosted by Al Hamriyah Club, and various folk and musical performances by Al Hamriyah schools. The events will conclude with an entertainment session for seniors.
