Sharjah24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, called for adopting various means to preserve human health, emphasising that it is not just about food and water. His Highness highlighted the importance of the air we breathe, stressing the need to maintain its purity by planting lush, tall trees that can filter out pollutants and contaminants, and repel and disperse harmful radiation and sound waves.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah recommended, during a phone call on the "Direct Line" programme aired on Sharjah Radio and Television, with the esteemed His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, the Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, that all residents plant lush, tall trees around their homes to cover both the houses and the surrounding air. His Highness pointed out that these trees absorb carbon dioxide gas at night and produce fresh oxygen that we breathe during the day. His Highness clarified that the majority of locally available oxygen is brought to us from other countries through various air currents, which causes it to lose many of its benefits and qualities. His Highness mentioned that oceans do not produce oxygen, hence the necessity to produce it by planting lush trees that provide us with the fresh oxygen that enters our bodies.

His Highness also pointed out that if we look at the city of Khorfakkan, one would ask themselves why villages and residential complexes are not built on its high mountains with elevated views. His Highness explained that these mountains and heights should be fully planted with lush, tall trees on both sides so that they absorb sounds and noises, turning Khorfakkan into a city saturated with oxygen. His Highness continued by stating that mountains amplify the sounds that collide and bounce off them. His Highness said, "Notice that soundproof iron panels, walls, and wood are not placed on the sides of highways because these things increase and raise sound levels. Instead, planting trees is used to break and block sounds. Therefore, homeowners on these roads do not hear these noises due to the presence of trees that protect them from noise." His Highness emphasised the importance of addressing these matters.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also emphasised the necessity of studying the air currents coming to us from the northwest and not obstructing them by constructing high and consecutive buildings in this direction. These buildings could become a cause of trapping air polluted with dust and smoke inside cities. Therefore, it is essential to create squares and roads extending from the sea through the cities so that these cities do not become site of pollutants. His Highness pointed out the need for conducting several studies covering all cities in the emirate to transform them into one hundred percent healthy cities and regions.

His Highness emphasised that the hanging gardens in the city of Kalba are a valuable addition to oxygen production. His Highness mentioned that Western countries and Brazil prohibit the cutting of trees and forests, which serve as the world's lungs and a source of oxygen and life. His Highness pointed out the importance of locally planting trees and not relying on other countries for oxygen production to avoid a future where imported oxygen decreases, impacting the breathing process. His Highness affirmed that caring for humans is not just about food and drink but also about the air we breathe.

His Highness stressed that studying humans and their needs is not an easy process and that Allah created the world to suit His creation. Therefore, human interference disrupts this balance. His Highness mentioned that when Allah sent Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, He commanded him to inhabit the Earth without causing corruption. However, the situation has changed. His Highness called for the preservation of the environment, noting that they do not demand governments to ban environmentally harmful companies because these companies fund the elections of these governments, making them complicit in environmental pollution.

International Environmental Initiatives

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, revealed that an organisation was established in collaboration with the former Presidents of Brazil and South Africa. His Highness mentioned that French President Emmanuel Macron offered to join them, but His Highness responded that they collaborate with those who enjoy freedom of speech, not those currently in power. His Highness explained that this organisation was one of his projects for the Sharjah community two years ago. However, circumstances and reasons of others prevented the completion of the joint environmental project. His Highness reiterated his determination to achieve the project himself to take care of humans from all aspects.

Enhancing the Quality of Private Education

His Highness emphasised that they have focused on private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, allocating a budget of AED 50 million to enhance their facilities. This includes developing covered indoor playgrounds, parking areas, and replacing doors, windows, air conditioners, and more as a gesture and gift from His Highness. This was done to prevent parents of students from being burdened with additional fees that they can do without. His Highness added that they started by repairing schools and then took on the task of reforming their owners and stakeholders by organising collective and individual meetings to encourage them to avoid making profits from the educational process by increasing tuition fees.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah explained that meetings have been organised at various levels for school principals and teachers, all aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching for the past three or four years. His Highness continued by stating that if they find a school with low teaching quality, they immediately close it and take charge.

His Highness urged the owners and stakeholders of schools, as well as all staff, to prioritise achieving stability to improve the educational process. His Highness emphasised that stability in schools leads to stability in thinking, and that stability in teaching means stability in the educational curriculum absorbed by the students. Therefore, all their efforts are directed towards enhancing the curricula and the authorities responsible for education.

Global Standards

His Highness revealed that our scores in the scientific curriculum are above the required levels by 28 points. His Highness pointed out that Victoria Schools in Sharjah represent an ideal model for the advancement and progress of education, having achieved scores exceeding a thousand points, surpassing the standards set by Australia itself. His Highness noted that the levels of these schools in Australia are lower than what has been achieved in Sharjah.

His Highness continued by stating that children must be provided with advanced and sophisticated education. His Highness added that in Sharjah, we compare ourselves with advanced countries in education such as Finland, Sweden, and Norway, competing with them. Now, these countries are partners with Sharjah in this field. His Highness expressed that life should be happy, stable, and safe for all countries in the world.

3 Cycling Tracks in Sharjah, Kalba, and Khorfakkan

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah disclosed that a study has been conducted on a project to establish a cycling track in Sharjah. The project has been awarded to a company worth AED 7 million through a tender process. His Highness pointed out that the company has begun implementation. His Highness added that this project preserves the environment and enhances the well-being of the residents. His Highness highlighted that the Emirate contains several places for walking sports. His Highness announced the beginning of constructing two similar tracks in the cities of Kalba and Khorfakkan.
