Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police General Command has called on desert visitors, including drivers, to prioritise safety by adhering to the guidelines provided by authorities.
Sharjah Police’s initiative aims to ensure the protection of lives, property, and the environment in the wilderness areas of Sharjah. The police emphasised the importance of responsible driving, particularly in rugged desert terrains, to prevent accidents and preserve the natural beauty of the Emirate.
This appeal comes after the rescue of four citizens involved in a vehicle rollover accident in the sandy area of Wadi Qarha in Al Bataeh on Thursday evening. The accident resulted in injuries ranging from minor to severe.
According to the report received by the central operations room, the vehicle rollover occurred in a remote desert location. Emergency teams, including the National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, quickly responded to the scene. One seriously injured individual was airlifted to the nearest hospital, while National Ambulance teams provided first aid and transported the other injured persons to local hospitals for further treatment.
