Sharjah24: In an effort to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise among government institutions, a delegation from Sharjah Municipality conducted a field visit to the Public Works Department in the emirate to observe its pioneering experience in contracting processes, company classification, and financial disbursement. This visit aligns with the municipality's goal of developing its policies and procedures according to best practices and global standards.
The Sharjah Municipality delegation was welcomed by several officials from the SDPW, who provided a detailed presentation on the methods and mechanisms used for classifying and approving contracting companies, as well as the financial disbursement system that ensures smooth and effective project implementation. The presentation also clarified the contracting procedures followed, which contribute to improving the quality of work and ensuring that contracting companies adhere to the standards set by the department.
During the visit, the digital procedures adopted by the Public Works Department were highlighted, including an electronic system for monitoring and evaluating company performance and advanced procedures to ensure the rapid flow of financial payments for projects. Additionally, future collaboration between the two entities was discussed, aimed at knowledge transfer and achieving institutional excellence.
