Sharjah Livestock Market receives a delegation from UoL

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Livestock Market received a delegation from the University of Liverpool (UoL), UK, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of veterinary sciences and support scientific research.
The delegation was received by Talal Mohammed, Director of the Central Region Markets Management; Sultan Al Zarouni, Head of the Control and Veterinary Department of Sharjah Municipality; and a number of administrators in the market. 

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the market facilities and services, and was introduced to the slaughterhouse's operating mechanism and the latest technologies used in slaughtering and health inspection operations.

Talal Mohammed said that the market management is keen to keep pace with the latest international standards in all aspects of work, especially with regard to veterinary sciences. He added that UoL visit represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation with international academic institutions to improve operations and review the latest scientific research in this vital field.

Talal Mohammed stressed the keenness of the Livestock Markets Department to adopt the latest international standards in slaughtering techniques and veterinary health, reflecting its interest in providing the best services to consumers and enhancing food security practices in the UAE.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening academic and research relations between the University of Liverpool and the Livestock Market Department in Sharjah, exchanging expertise and contributing to the development of scientific research methods in the livestock sector.

It is worth noting that the Livestock Market in Sharjah is one of the projects affiliated with Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of Sharjah government.
