This participation is part of EPAA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Sharjah’s presence on the global eco-tourism map by highlighting its pioneering projects in biodiversity protection and sustainable tourism development. Sharjah Safari, the largest safari of its kind outside Africa, offers a unique educational, environmental, and recreational experience that reflects Sharjah’s commitment to balancing development with the conservation of natural ecosystems.
Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, emphasised that EPAA’s presence at this global event supports the Authority’s strategy to showcase Sharjah’s environmental achievements and enhance its international visibility.
She stated: “Our participation in the World Travel Market reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in making environmental protection an integral part of Sharjah’s development identity. Through this participation, we seek to highlight the distinguished experience of Sharjah Safari as a unique model that combines wildlife conservation with sustainable tourism, reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a leader in managing integrated environmental and tourism projects.”
She added: “The exhibition serves as an ideal platform to exchange knowledge and broaden cooperation with international institutions involved in eco-tourism and nature conservation. Through this global presence, we aim to showcase Sharjah’s message of balanced development — one that places people and the environment at the heart of its future vision.”
The Sharjah Pavilion at the exhibition highlights the emirate’s exceptional environmental and tourism features, foremost among them Sharjah Safari, which is considered one of the world’s leading eco-tourism projects.
