Sharjah24: The Sharjah Parents Council, in collaboration with the Child and Family Protection Centre from the Sharjah Social Services Department, recently conducted a training program titled “Wadeema’s Law.”
This initiative was designed to equip families with essential legal knowledge, enhancing their understanding of children's rights and the legislation that upholds child protection.

The program took place on Monday morning at the Council’s headquarters, with legal researcher Etizaz Khaled leading the session.

During the program, participants explored key topics, including an introduction to “Wadeema Law” and its significance in safeguarding children's rights, as well as the legal processes in place to ensure their well-being.

She stressed that recognizing children's rights and responsibilities is essential for promoting their well-being and fostering a safe environment. Both local and international laws, like the Convention on the Rights of the Child, outline essential rights, including the right to education, healthcare, and protection from violence and exploitation. It is crucial for parents and society as a whole to be aware of these rights to ensure that children receive the care and attention they truly deserve.

She went on to clarify that children have certain responsibilities, including respecting laws, working on their skills, and taking ownership of their actions. It is crucial to understand both children’s rights and their obligations, as this balance helps safeguard their well-being while fostering independence. This approach is instrumental in nurturing a generation that is not only capable of contributing to society but also does so with confidence and effectiveness.
