EPAA takes part in 2025 EAZA Education Conference in UK

Sharjah 24: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah is participating in the 2025 EAZA Education Conference, organized by the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA). The conference is taking place at Chester Zoo, United Kingdom, from March 18 to 21, with the participation of more than 195 delegates from various countries worldwide. The event focuses on the role of zoos and aquariums as educational spaces, centers for nature-based learning, and platforms for collective action to enhance environmental awareness and wildlife conservation.

Showcasing Sharjah’s Achievements in Sustainability, Environmental Conservation, and Biodiversity

Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, stated: "Our participation in the 2025 EAZA Education Conference aligns with our ongoing commitment to fostering global partnerships and engaging with leading international events in the environmental field, particularly in the conservation of wildlife and the role of zoos and aquariums. This conference provides a valuable platform to explore advanced practices, latest research insights, and successful experiences by interacting with experts, researchers, and specialists. These engagements help refine our strategies and projects, particularly in highlighting Sharjah’s achievements in sustainability, environmental conservation, and biodiversity protection—most notably the Sharjah Safari project and our efforts in the conservation and breeding of endangered species."

The EPAA delegation, which includes teams from communications, education, and public guidance, is attending the event to learn from advanced experiences showcased at the conference, particularly in environmental education and enhancing awareness about wildlife conservation.
