Sharjah24: Senior officials from the Sharjah Social Services Department, along with members of the authenticity clubs, took part in the “Old Heritage Costumes” event. This event was organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage in collaboration with the Emirati Crafts Center, held at the Arab House in Sharjah.
This participation comes within the educational and awareness campaign to enhance understanding of the Emirati heritage as a symbol of national identity.

Kholoud Abdullah Al Ali, the Director of the Elderly Services Centre at the SSSD, highlighted the significance of this event, emphasizing the close collaboration between authenticity clubs and government agencies to promote national and heritage identity. These clubs are home to many mothers who possess a wealth of knowledge about heritage and customs, making them invaluable resources for Emirati traditions.

Al Ali noted that this event offered members of the authenticity clubs a chance to immerse themselves in a rich experience that revisits the beauty of the past while showcasing heritage as a vital link connecting generations.

Throughout the event, members of the Authenticity Clubs shared valuable insights into traditional costumes from the UAE and various other countries, helping to deepen the younger generation's understanding of their ancestors' customs and traditions.

Everyone had a wonderful evening, featuring a showcase of traditional Emirati costumes, noted for their diverse designs and authentic flair.

This event is part of ongoing efforts to foster cultural connection and strengthen communication between generations. It allows adults to reminisce about cherished memories while reinforcing the values of heritage, which are essential to the Emirati identity.
