Sharjah24: Six citizens sustained varying degrees of injuries, from moderate to severe, in a traffic accident that occurred on Friday afternoon along Emirates Road. The incident was the result of a chain collision involving four vehicles, caused by recklessness, excessive speed, and distractions unrelated to the road.
Details reveal that the Sharjah Police Operations Room received a report on Friday afternoon regarding a collision between four vehicles on Emirates  Road, specifically from Al-Badee Bridge heading toward Bridge No. 7. This led to injuries among drivers and passengers. Immediately, specialized police teams and National Ambulance units were dispatched to the scene, where it was determined that the injuries ranged from moderate to severe. This prompted the involvement of the Air Wing of the General Support Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, which transported several injured individuals to the hospital for necessary medical care.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al-Mundhiri, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, stated that the accident was caused by excessive speed, inattentiveness, and distractions unrelated to the road. He explained that the incident occurred when a speeding vehicle collided with a crowded lane where vehicles were moving slowly due to heavy traffic, resulting in a chain reaction that caused additional collisions and injuries.

Lieutenant Colonel Al-Mundhiri emphasized that excessive speed, lack of attention, and distractions are among the main causes of most traffic accidents. He highlighted the importance of adhering to traffic laws and remaining attentive while driving. He noted that following traffic regulations significantly contributes to avoiding accidents that could result in severe loss of life and property. Furthermore, he added that promoting a culture of safe driving is essential for enhancing road safety and ensuring community well-being.
