This was stated during His Highness's reception this morning, Saturday, of the grandchildren of Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Saadi at the Holy Quran Academy.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the attendees and praised their role in preserving the legacy of Al Saadi, highlighting his scientific and research efforts in the interpretation of the Quran, as well as in the fields of creed, jurisprudence, and its foundations, and the dissemination of his valuable works and writings.
During the meeting, His Highness discussed the Emirate of Sharjah’s experience in documenting the scientific legacy of the Quran, the Prophetic Sunnah, and the Arabic language. Sharjah Ruler underscored the care given to all sciences through specialized institutions equipped with all necessary resources and experts, aimed at preserving the great history of the nation, raising awareness of it, and introducing it to new generations. Sharjah Ruler also pointed out Sharjah's commitment to honoring scholars across various fields and disciplines, including those who have served and promoted the Quran through its recitation, interpretation, and dissemination, through numerous events, occasions, and awards, as a recognition of scholars and knowledge bearers and support for those who work diligently in these areas.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah appreciated role played by the late scholar Al-Saadi in his dedication to the Quran and his writings on the sciences of jurisprudence and Hadith. Sharjah Ruler noted that Al Saadi's writing style was distinguished by its clarity, simplicity, and accessibility rather than complexity, earning him a prominent position among people as one of the scholars and reciters of the Quran.
His Highness listened to a detailed explanation about the displayed items, which include a collection of manuscripts left by Al Saadi, covering various interpretations and his works in jurisprudence, Quranic sciences, Hadith, and creed. Additionally, the exhibition features drafts of various books, letters, fatwas, and other rare and historical writings.
Upon his arrival, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on the exhibition dedicated to the diverse possessions of Al-Saadi, which narrates aspects of his life and scientific contributions, along with a collection of photographs documenting historic mosques he was associated with during different periods, as well as his meetings with scholars.
His Highness discussed the life of Al Saadi, indicating that he is considered a prominent scholarly figure who made substantial efforts to serve the Quran and its sciences through the numerous works, research, and messages he provided to students of knowledge, researchers, and teachers. His books are characterized by clear expression, fluid language, and straightforwardness, avoiding difficult phrases and showcasing various scientific aspects of his legacy.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah presented a certificate of appreciation to the grandchildren of Al-Saadi in recognition of their efforts in preserving and promoting his heritage. Sharjah Ruler also thanked them for gifting a collection of Al-Saadi's valuable works, manuscripts, and possessions related to the interpretation of the Quran. In turn, the grandchildren of Al-Saadi expressed their gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the warm reception and for honoring the symbols of knowledge.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Saadi was born in the town of Unayzah in Qassim, Saudi Arabia, on the 12th of Muharram, 1307 AH (1889 AD). He memorized the Quran at the age of eleven and received extensive education in various fields of knowledge, starting his teaching career at the age of 23. Among his most notable students was Sheikh Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him. Throughout his scholarly journey, Al-Saadi was distinguished by his comprehensive knowledge of jurisprudence and its foundations, as well as creed. He authored unique works in the interpretation of the Quran. He devoted himself to knowledge and his students, established the National Library, and served as the imam and khatib at the Grand Mosque in Unayzah, Saudi Arabia. He was known for his humility, great manners, integrity, and piety. After a lifetime of nearly 69 years dedicated to the service of knowledge and the Book of God, Sheikh Al-Saadi passed away in 1376 AH (1956 AD).
In attendance at the meeting, alongside His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, were His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Dr. Khalifa Musabeh bin Ahmed Al Teneiji, Chairman of Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah (HQA); Professor Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University; Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department; Abdullah Khalifa Al-Sabousi, Chairman of the Department of Islamic Affairs, and several officials.
