CP, Sultan bin Ahmed attend ‘Flag Day’ ceremony in Sharjah

Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, emphasized that Flag Day is a significant national occasion celebrated annually in the United Arab Emirates. This day honours the emblem of sovereignty, pride, and dignity while also embodying the values of unity, togetherness, and loyalty to our homeland and its wise leadership.

On Friday, at Flag Island, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed attended the UAE flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. This event was part of the annual Flag Day celebrations held on November 3.

The Crown Prince emphasised that the UAE flag embodies the pride of the national identity, deeply instilling this sentiment within the hearts of the nation’s youth. It serves as a powerful symbol of unity and collaboration, driving us toward greater achievements and safeguarding the strong foundations established by our founding leaders, which are essential for building a thriving, civilised state.

Sultan bin Ahmed emphasized that the UAE honours Flag Day every year, highlighting the importance of this national symbol that stands proudly in all arenas. It represents the aspirations of the nation’s youth and the achievements they have realized through hard work, knowledge, and a deep commitment to their national identity, which they embrace with pride.

At precisely 11:00 am, the Crown Prince of Sharjah signaled the start of the flag-raising ceremony. This event featured the participation of officers and personnel from the Sharjah Police General Command, along with the military band from the Sharjah Academy for Police Sciences. As the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates filled the air, the nation’s flag was raised proudly into the sky, celebrating the significance of Flag Day.

The Flag Day celebrations were graced by the presence of : Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority; Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Ruler’s Office; Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development; Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Districts Affairs; Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Community Development; Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Municipal Affairs; along with numerous senior officials and heads of various government departments and entities in the Emirate of Sharjah.
