Sharjah24: Khorfakkan hosted the competitions of the Arab Cycling Day as part of the celebrations organized by the Arab Cycling Federation for this occasion, which falls on October 30 each year, with the participation of 300 athletes who are fans of cycling.
The event, which took place the day before yesterday, started from Khorfakkan Waterfall and covered a distance of approximately 10 km. It was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Hamid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, along with His Excellency Dr. Omar bin Hunaifa, a member of the Sharjah Sports Council, Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, Dr. Ashraf Imam, President of the Sudanese Cycling Federation, Ahmad Hassan Al Naqbi, a member of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club, Salem Al Shehi, Financial Director of the Arab Federation, and Advisor Ismail Al-Hosani, Secretary-General of the Arab Cycling Federation.
Sheikh Faisal bin Hamid Al Qasimi expressed his happiness at the large turnout and wide participation seen at the event, praising the fruitful cooperation between the Sharjah Sports Council and the UAE Cycling Federation, which reflects the UAE's commitment to promoting sports and focusing on community activities, especially cycling, which is one of the most important sports that promote physical activity and environmental preservation.
