Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 3rd Sharjah Ruler’s Camel Racing Festival will kick off on Monday, November 4, at Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track. This year’s festival will feature 126 races covering a variety of camel categories.
In a statement to “Sharjah24,” Abdullah Mohammed bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, confirmed that the races would span all categories, allowing for wide participation across age groups and competition levels. Events will take place over both morning and evening times, providing a full day of exciting competitions for fans and spectators.
He emphasised that the festival takes place under the guidance of the Ruler of Sharjah and receives support from Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, showcasing the leadership’s commitment to maintaining the tradition of camel racing. The festival aims to enhance the prominence of camel racing across the UAE, emphasising cultural identity and honouring the heritage significance of this time-honoured sport.
