The two guests shared highlights from their academic and professional journeys, discussing the challenges they encountered and the factors that contributed to their success and active participation in serving their families and communities.
At the beginning of the session, the two guests praised the generous support and care extended to Emirati women by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his brothers, Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates and Members of the Supreme Council.
They emphasised that the support of the UAE’s wise leadership has contributed to enhancing the status of women and empowering them to play an active role in the country’s comprehensive development process and assume leading positions across various fields of national work.
Dr Fatima Al-Mughni Al-Naqbi emphasised that the achievements of Emirati women are rooted in the strong foundations established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him. From the early days of the Union, Sheikh Zayed recognised the importance of women’s education, empowerment and participation in nation-building.
She explained that Sheikh Zayed gave particular attention to women’s wellbeing, providing them with educational and employment opportunities and encouraging families to enrol their daughters in schools and universities. He believed that the nation’s progress could not be complete without women participating alongside men.
Al-Naqbi also praised the pioneering national role of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. She highlighted her continuous efforts to support and empower Emirati women and enhance their presence as active partners in building the nation and shaping its future.
For her part, Fatima Alai Al-Naqbi affirmed that women in Sharjah have received exceptional attention and care under the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his continued support for education, culture, family and human development.
She also praised the efforts of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, and her prominent role in supporting women and families. She highlighted the initiatives and institutions launched under her leadership that have contributed to developing women’s capabilities and strengthening their participation in serving the community.
Fatima Allay emphasised that the care provided by the UAE’s leadership has given women broad opportunities in education, employment and creativity, enabling them to achieve qualitative accomplishments and attain prominent positions across various fields.
She also commended the role of Emirati men in supporting and encouraging women throughout their journeys and helping them achieve their ambitions. Citing her own experience, she noted her husband’s support and presence throughout her academic and professional career, during which she worked across several fields, including education, while simultaneously completing her university studies. She said this support had a significant impact on her success and advancement.
The two guests offered a range of advice to young Emirati women, stressing the importance of caring for their families and husbands, raising children with national and moral values, and appreciating the role and efforts of men as partners in maintaining family stability and success.
They also highlighted the importance of balancing family responsibilities with continuing education and professional work, maintaining a presentable appearance in the workplace without exaggeration, and avoiding extravagance and waste, particularly when it comes to wedding expenses and related celebrations.
The speakers encouraged young women to contribute to society through volunteer work and humanitarian and community initiatives as a way of giving back to their country and demonstrating loyalty. They emphasised that such participation reinforces values of responsibility, belonging and positive contribution.
His Excellency Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, affirmed that the session reflects the club’s commitment to highlighting the inspiring experiences of Emirati women and strengthening recognition of their influential role in building families and society.
He also stressed the importance of institutional cooperation and integration in supporting purposeful cultural and community initiatives.
Dr Luay Saeed Allay, Vice Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, explained that dialogue sessions provide an important platform for sharing experiences and expertise with members of the community. Such sessions contribute to instilling values of ambition, determination and the ability to overcome challenges, while highlighting successful and inspiring Emirati role models.
Abdullah Saeed Al Harithi, Head of the Club’s Corporate Communications Committee, said that organising the session reflects Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled’s commitment to providing purposeful cultural and community initiatives, strengthening cooperation and partnerships with government entities and institutions, and highlighting the inspiring experiences of Emirati women.
He noted that these efforts contribute to instilling values of ambition, determination and success while encouraging community members to participate positively and serve their nation.
Al-Harithi added that the session was attended by representatives of several government agencies and institutions in the Eastern Region, along with members of the club’s Board of Directors, employees and other guests.
The session witnessed notable interaction from attendees with the personal experiences, national messages and motivational insights shared by the speakers. The discussions highlighted the vital role of Emirati women, their ability to overcome challenges and achieve success, and their active contribution to society.
