Sharjah 24: The Executive Committee for Expanding the Scope of the Sharjah Healthy City Programme held its fourth meeting, Monday, October 28, at the Sharjah Health Authority headquarters, to discuss developments related to the various cities of the Emirate being covered by the programme. The meeting also reviewed the new brand identity and logo of the Sharjah Healthy City programme, which celebrates future trends towards developing a sustainable health environment in the Emirate.
The new approved brand identity and logo represents an integrated vision that reflects the Emirate's commitment to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable health infrastructure and environment for all its residents. The new logo embodies the core values on which the Healthy City programme is based, such as innovation, community cooperation, and interest in health and well-being, and expresses Sharjah's commitment to implementing the highest global health standards.
The new Sharjah Healthy City Programme identity symbolises a shift towards more sustainable and health-resilient cities, as it reflects the green nature and distinctive environment that the Emirate seeks to create in its various cities, in line with future aspirations in the fields of public health and sustainable development.
The Sharjah Executive Council approved the establishment of the Sharjah Healthy Cities Network with the aim of mobilising the efforts of various sectors to achieve sustainable development goals in the field of health, by including representatives of government and private sector stakeholders.
The Sharjah Healthy City Programme seeks to enhance community participation, to ensure the integration of the community efforts and achieve the desired positive impact on the health and overall wellbeing of society. The Programme is part of Sharjah's vision to build a sustainable environment that provides a high quality of life for all residents of the Emirate.
Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, all cities and regions of the Emirate have been included in the Healthy City Programme network, namely: Dibba Al Hisn, Al Madam, Maliha, Al Bataeh and Al Hamriyah, in addition to the cities that were previously registered - Khorfakkan, Kalba and Al Dhaid.
The expansion aims to include all regions of the Emirate in the programme to achieve health and well-being of all.
His Excellency Dr Abdelaziz Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and the Executive Committee for Expanding the Scope of the Sharjah Healthy City Programme, stressed that the new brand identity represents an important step in the programme's journey, as it translates our ambitious vision to enhance public health and provide a sustainable healthy environment for all residents of the Emirate.
The new logo is not just a visual symbol, but rather an expression of our firm commitment to innovation and community cooperation to achieve the highest standards of health and safety, added Dr Al Muhairi.
Dr Al Muhairi pointed out that the success achieved by Sharjah so far in the field of public health is a strong motivation to continue expanding, stressing the role of local authorities in achieving this through joint work and providing continuous support.
He also touched on the importance of implementing and adhering to all standards and criteria required by the World Health Organization according to the highest levels of quality. The Executive Committee also resolved to achieve all the goals and targets of the Sharjah Healthy City programme by undertaking a series of initiatives and awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing public health standards and the sustainability of a healthy environment throughout Sharjah, added Dr Al Muhairi.
