Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi emphasised that the expansion of the Sharjah Healthy City Program follows the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in enhancing the quality of life for the Emirate’s residents. This is achieved by fostering collaboration among all stakeholders, concerned entities and sectors to create a sustainable healthy environment in accordance with global best practices.
The meeting approved the minutes of the previous session to ensure continuity in implementing the committee’s approved plans for expanding the Sharjah Healthy City initiative and promoting public health across the emirate.
Committee members also reviewed recommendations from the first training workshop, which focused on health city assessment mechanisms and best practices for fostering innovation in health initiatives. Discussions also covered the participation of Sharjah’s delegation in the Healthy Cities Conference in Kuwait, exploring successful regional experiences to support the program’s further development.
The meeting on this occasion saw the launch of "Evidence Platform", a digital tool designed to document and analyse health data to support planning and decision-making, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of health initiatives. The session also discussed various updates and proposals aimed at achieving the Sharjah Healthy City Program’s objectives.
