Sharjah24 - WAM: Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohamed Alhashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, has been reappointed as the Senior Vice President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation for a new four-year term.
This reappointment took place at the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation's Annual Congress, held yesterda alongside the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Greece.
The Congress welcomed Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation, along with numerous continental federation representatives, Joachim Thumfart, Executive Director of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation, and Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union.
During the Congress, President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos was re-elected by acclamation for a new term, while members also approved the adoption of new regulations for the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union, reviewed the past year’s achievements, and finalized next season’s competition calendar, confirming Thailand as the host of the upcoming World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
On behalf of Abdulmunem Al Hashemi, Al Shamsi expressed gratitude to the Congress members for their ongoing support and dedication to advancing jiu-jitsu on the international stage. He also congratulated President Theodoropoulos on his re-election and conveyed Al Hashemi’s pride in his reappointment as Senior Vice President.
He added, “This trust signifies a profound responsibility to elevate jiu-jitsu at every level, expand its global reach, advance workforce capabilities, and increase tournament opportunities across age groups.” Al Shamsi concluded, “We will work closely with our international partners to guarantee fair opportunities for all athletes, committing to integrity and professionalism in every aspect of the sport.”
