Strengthening partnerships with educational institutions
The signing ceremony, also witnessed by senior officials, emphasised the club’s commitment to building strong ties with academic institutions. Representing Sharjah Sports Club, Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Head of the Individual Sports Department, signed the agreement alongside Shaimaa Zaghloul, Deputy Director of the School. The event was attended by club officials including General Manager Mohammed Ali Al Qaseer, Department Director Ali Hassan, and Captain Abdullah Hatem, Technical Director of Taekwondo.
School to become external training centre
Under the agreement, the American School of Creative Science – Mleiha Branch will serve as an external center for individual sports. The school’s high percentage of Emirati students and its well-developed infrastructure make it an ideal partner to help the club reach its target demographic. The initiative will begin with a taekwondo center on campus, followed by additional individual sports offerings in the future.
Strategic vision for youth development
Engineer Al Hajri highlighted the strategic significance of collaborating with schools to discover and nurture young talents. He emphasised the importance of scientific training methods and noted the school’s location in a growing Emirati residential area as a major advantage. The club’s external training centers are expected to pave the way for more partnerships with other schools.
Future expansion and broader impact
Initially focusing on taekwondo, the club aims to eventually introduce other sports, leveraging the school’s facilities and student engagement. Al Hajri noted that beyond training, the club will offer workshops and educational courses to cultivate a sports culture among youth, aligning with its broader mission to support Emirati talent.
Empowering students through sports
Shaimaa Zaghloul reaffirmed the school’s dedication to empowering students and promoting physical fitness. She emphasised that sports positively influence students’ social lives, academic performance, and overall development. Zaghloul praised the partnership with Sharjah Sports Club, highlighting the school’s modern sports infrastructure and specialized physical education staff as key assets in making the initiative a success.
