SCI offers educational aid for 24,000 students

SCI launches first phase of aid for Bangladesh flood victims

Sharjah 24: During the first nine months of 2024, Sharjah Charity International allocated AED 18.1 million to cover educational expenses for students in need within the UAE, as well as to support the construction and operation of schools and educational institutes in developing countries.
The charity’s initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to education, guided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, who stresses the importance of investing in human potential, especially through educational efforts.

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, stated that the association has aided 7,846 students in the UAE, contributing AED 10.7 million to cover their tuition fees. Additionally, the association provided 6,500 school bags to the students. These efforts have alleviated the financial burden for many, allowing students to concentrate on their studies and improve their academic performance.

On an international scale, the charity's "Haya Nat'allam" (Let's Learn) initiative has successfully resulted in the establishment and functioning of 137 schools, classrooms, Quranic centres, and educational institutes, positively impacting 1,588 students. Prior to the academic year, Sharjah Charity International provided over 14,475 school bags and uniforms, valued at AED 8 million. These initiatives highlight Sharjah Charity International’s dedication to promoting education both within the community and internationally.

Bin Khadim conveyed his appreciation to donors and supporters for their contributions, which have allowed students to pursue their studies without financial worries. He stressed the importance of investing in education, as it is essential for cultivating minds capable of contributing to societal advancement.
